Lice are these tiny animals that infest children's heads, often between the ages of 3 and 11. Whether they are in nursery or school, these insects are regularly present and spread quickly causing itching on the scalp and behind the ears.

There are several products in parapharmacy against these lice, but often they contain chemicals. To better care for our little blond heads, here are some natural, effective, gentle, and economical remedies.

Natural remedies

Mayonnaise: yes, mayonnaise as antipoux, amazing, but it is effective. Apply to all hair and leave on for two hours then wash the hair with the usual shampoo. If the hair is still greasy, feel free to renew the shampoo.

Vinegar and oil: make a mixture of these two products in equal parts and apply directly to dry hair. Do a small massage to make the product penetrate well and then wrap the hair in a towel for a quarter of an hour. Before washing, comb to remove insects and wash with shampoo to which you will have added tea tree essential oil.

White vinegar: it can also be used on its own by spreading it over all the hair of your child. Then wrap the head with a warm towel and leave to act. After a quarter of an hour, wash the hair with shampoo, the smell of vinegar will easily leave.

Coconut oil: despite the smell a little strong, it works well when mixed with camphor powder. The product is to be applied at night, 4 times in a row by washing the hair every morning.

Baking soda: sprinkle your child's head and massage the entire scalp for a few minutes to make the product work. Be careful, ask your child to keep their eyes tightly closed to avoid getting splashes of baking soda in the eyes. Then wash and rinse the hair well.

Another method with the use of baking soda is to dilute it in a bowl filled with hot water. Take the antipoux comb, pass it into the solution and comb the hair. Repeat the action as much as necessary and to finish, wash your child's hair as usual.

Essential oil remedies

Essential oils are just as effective as kitchen products, but be sure to carefully adhere to the dosage.

The essential oil of tea tree or true lavender: 2 tablespoons of olive oil added to 4 drops of essential oil of tea tree or true lavender. Mix and rub the scalp with the solution. Wait for about a quarter of an hour then comb and finish with a shampoo wash.

Take essential oil of lavender, eucalyptus, and Rosemary, put 4 drops of each in the shampoo. Wash as usual by lightly massaging during shampooing and wait a few minutes for the product to take effect.

Lice are always accompanied by their eggs, nits. To effectively remove lice, nits must also be removed. The products used as mentioned above are aimed at a perfect cleaning of both at the same time. Since lice have become increasingly resistant to insecticidal chemicals, it is better to use these natural methods.
